Chamber Music Monterey Bay welcomes the acclaimed Claremont Trio to the Sunset Center for an evening of extraordinary chamber music. Hailed by The Strad as “one of America’s finest young chamber groups,” the ensemble is celebrated for its virtuosic performances, expressive artistry, and exceptional musical chemistry. Winners of the prestigious Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award and the only piano trio ever to win the Young Concert Artists International Auditions, the Claremont Trio continues to captivate audiences around the world.
The program features Beethoven’s elegant Piano Trio in E-flat Major, Op. 70, No. 2, Rebecca Clarke’s richly expressive Piano Trio, and Paul Schoenfield’s energetic and jazz-inspired Café Music. The evening concludes with Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel’s Piano Trio in D Minor, Op. 11, a Romantic masterpiece celebrated for its lyricism and emotional depth.

The concert will be preceded by a 30-minute pre-concert talk beginning at 6:30 PM, offering ticket holders engaging insight into the evening’s music and composers.
