Arts Education

An arts education program isn’t just about creating artists; it’s about nurturing confident, imaginative minds that paint the canvas of their futures with creativity, innovation, and a profound appreciation for the world’s rich tapestry of culture and expression.

Since 1988, the Arts Council for Monterey County has championed Arts Education throughout our county. From our cornerstone Professional Artists in the Schools program to our online curriculum Arts4Home to our award-winning Arts4Healing, we reach tens of thousands of children, adults, seniors, at-risk youth, the homeless, survivors of human trafficking and veterans through our inclusive programming.

We provide visual and performing arts education programs to approximately 26,000 students every year, including:
    • Over 40 partner schools
    • 34% English language learners
    • 72% low income students (students who receive free and reduced-price lunches)
    • 61% Latino, 3% Black or African American, 3% Indigenous Tribes, and 2% Asian students
