Accessibility

Arts4MC is committed to accessibility and inclusion in all aspects of our work, from governance to programs to operations. We strive to ensure that everyone has access to the arts, including people with disabilities, older adults, veterans and at-risk youth. We work to assist individuals and organizations in making their programs and facilities accessible and inclusive for people with disabilities, while connecting them with resources for access to the arts.

We work closely with community partners and artists to identify and develop meaningful connections for participants and audiences to access the art, including language, affordability, physical, and cultural access. In order to bring intersectional perspectives of community histories, immigrant, intergenerational, LGBTQ+ identities, along with a deep commitment to cultural equity, we ensure accessibility for those who are historically marginalized.

Program brochures, grant writing webinars and print and electronic promotions are provided in both English and Spanish, and our administrative office is ADA compliant.

We contract a website designer to ensure our website maintains accessibility according to ADA regulations. Our website is translated into Spanish with a button, and includes the accessibility tool “One Click” that allows users to resize font, add grayscale, negative or high contrast, lighten the background, underline links, change the font to be more readable, and link to the sitemap.

Arts4MC continues its efforts to constantly improve the accessibility of its site and services in the belief that it is our collective moral obligation to allow seamless, accessible and unhindered use for those of us with disabilities.

Annually, our executive staff and board of directors discuss strategies and resources within the context of our organization’s new Strategic Plan. We have implemented a comprehensive list of policies and procedures that will enhance the current upgrades that are already being coordinated.

Despite our efforts to make all pages and content on Arts4MC.org fully accessible, some content may not have yet been fully adapted to the strictest accessibility standards. This may be a result of not having found or identified the most appropriate technological solution.
