Please contact me for more information. The private or small group classes will be held in my studio in old Monterey. I'm an oil painter focusing on painting outdoors, en plein air. I also work in the studio from still lives and sometimes from photos. I have a fine arts degree from the University of Washington in Seattle and have been painting professionally since 2008. I'm also proficient in acrylic painting. Classes will be geared to where you're at on your painting journey, from beginner to more advanced. All aspects of painting will be covered according to your needs. The hourly rate is just $25.
Using traditional wet and dry artists’ media, digital images or comic art, I create provocative art that draws from personal experiences, dreams and altered states to challenge viewers’ assumptions of what is real and normal.
Following in the ancient traditions of artists as storytellers and truthsayers of the tribal community, I combine visual images and words. My work aims to subvert the dominant culture of inequality, whether that culture is reflected in politics, daily life or what passes for entertainment.

Hijos Del Sol provides a complimentary studio space and the necessary tools and materials to complete projects and experiment with various mediums. Throughout each year, Instructors and students design collective exhibits to showcase their work. In addition to visual arts instruction, we provide ample opportunity for exploration with interdisciplinary forms; exposure to historical, contemporary, and cultural traditions; and practice with core life competencies, all while fostering the value of post- secondary education. An important strategy is to create jobs with allowance for youth apprentices that act as mentors to the next generation of up and coming young illustrators.

The Gallery presents the work of a talented eclectic group of artists working in sculpture, photography, ceramic, painting and mixed media. The gallery is known for photography by Steven Castro that captures the dramatic cliffs, fog and cypress of neighboring Big Sur, Point Lobos and the Central Coast. The plein air paintings by Kevin Milligan depict the California Coast of Carmel, Pacific Grove, Monterey and Big Sur all the way to Mendocino. Interior valleys with oaks, canyons, foothills and wine country of Napa Sonoma and Mendocino counties are other favorite subjects. Abstract paintings made in acrylic in an opaque improvisational style are by Paula Boas. Sea inspired works in mixed media of porcelain and glass are made by internationally recognized Peter Masters. The figurative sculpture by Colin Lambert and Jason Griego offers different styles in mediums of bronze, resin and found objects that create a rich diversity for the gallery visitor to enjoy.
Valley Greens Gallery is located in the heart of Carmel Valley Village. We embrace all of the wonderful things about Carmel Valley and Monterey County; the wonderful art scene, the fascinating wildlife and the awe of the landscape are just some of the things we love about the Central Coast that keep us inspired.
