Santa Rita Elementary School students recently brought new color and energy to campus with a mural that celebrates creativity, school pride, and community.
Over several class sessions, fifth-grade students worked with Teaching Artist Megan Goodwin to create a mural featuring the school’s hummingbird mascot, agricultural fields, soccer players, and California poppies – images that reflect the spirit of the school and the surrounding community.
It was powerful to see the mural take shape and to watch students light up as they saw their ideas come to life. Projects like this give young people the chance to create something together, take pride in their campus, and leave a lasting mark for future students.
We’re proud to continue partnering with Santa Rita Elementary School and supporting their commitment to a vibrant, welcoming campus through the arts.
This project reflects the spirit of Arts4MC’s Murals Program, where talented muralists partner with schools to uplift young people, energize campuses, and create lasting public art that reflects each community’s unique identity.
