What if the thing you spent your whole life trying to hide turned out to be your greatest superpower?

Growing up gay in the 1960s and ’70s, Polly survived by imagining a world where she could belong. In this funny, moving and deeply personal solo performance, award-winning performer and TEDx speaker Patti Dobrowolski transforms into a cast of unforgettable characters—parents, teachers, first loves, unlikely heroes, and one remarkable wolf—to tell the story of a kid finding the courage to become herself.

Presented as part of the Central Coast Solo Festival, Polly’s Army of One is filled with laughter, tenderness and theatrical magic—and a reminder that sometimes the hardest person to become is the person you were all along.
And after the show? Stay for pie and conversation with Patti in the lobby.

September 25 & 26, 7PM at Stanton Theatre in Monterey.
