As with many photographers, photography has become a process of getting closer to my true self, much like meditation. Moments are meant to be still in, whether they are moments of melancholy or beauty. A friend’s sadness, the despair felt when diving a damaged coral reef, a child’s determination, sunlight beaming through a jellyfish’s bell, or the pure joy of witnessing humpback whales en masse are gifts of being that, for me, are a privilege to share. Not surprisingly, my images tend toward the moody, edgy, whimsical, and dark. My favorite cameras are my Nikonos V and my handsome Super Ikonta III. Digital images are minimally post-processed.
