Our Mission: The mission of the Arts Council for Monterey County is to improve the quality of life for everyone in our region through the arts. We are proud to partner with the Monterey County Board of Supervisors to award Monterey County Arts and Culture Grants to nonprofit organizations making our region the most vibrant place in the world to live, work and visit.
Eligibility: All programs with 501©(3) status or a confirmed fiscal sponsor serving Monterey County residents through the arts. Cycle 1 Deadline: Fall – October 15; Cycle 2 Deadline: Spring – Feb 15. (Note: If you are successful in the fall, you may not apply again in the spring.)
Review Process: Grants are awarded on a competitive basis. The Arts Council’s Board of Directors appoints panels comprised of five community members with diverse perspectives, representing our County’s five districts to review all applications. The highest scoring grant applications will be complete and accurate, attaching only the required documents. They will also substantially demonstrate:
- The overall strength of the organization including the evidence of community support and leadership.
- Quality of the program or project, including the qualifications of personnel,scope of service and potential impact for Monterey County residents.
- Evidence of Unique contribution(s) to the region.
