DESCRIPTION:An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe\, adapted by Robert Mason Directed by Todd Siff on the Morgan Stock Stage Edgar Allan Poe is one of the most influential literary figures of the last three hundred years. His horror-filled works are part of our cultural consciousness. MPC Theatre Arts is excited to bring six of his classic tales to life on the Morgan Stock Stage for the Halloween season! Our production features stage adaptations of the following classic tales: The Raven\, The Cask of Amontillado\, The Tell-Tale Heart\, The Fall of the House of Usher\, The System of Dr. Tarr and Professor Fether\, and The Purloined Letter. An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe features over 25 MPC students\, staff\, and community members. The production will combine Poe’s tales from the 19th century with modern lighting and projection to create a unique experience for the Monterey Peninsula theatre audience! SUMMARY:MPC Theatre Arts presents Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka
DESCRIPTION:MPC Theatre Arts is excited to return to the Morgan Stock Stage with Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka April 4-21! \nRoald Dahl’s Willy Wonka follows enigmatic candy manufacturer\, Willy Wonka\, as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whomever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory\, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats: the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket\, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka’s rules in the factory… or suffer the consequences. \nMPC’s production of Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka aims to create a modern rendition of this classic story\, built for the audiences of today. Willy Wonka features multi-media presentation\, Hunger Games style characters\, immersive theatre stylizations\, and live music that will create an atmosphere full of theatrical magic.
