Held in honor of National Native American Heritage Month\, the exhibition offers an opportunity to explore Schultz’s personal artistic expression and her enduring interest in the Indigenous peoples of the Americas. Schultz specializes in clay and mixed-media masks inspired by Indigenous peoples of the Americas. Her broader body of work includes Southwestern-style masks made from clay and gourds\, rawhide shields\, dolls\, serigraphs\, clay plaques\, photography\, collage\, and two-dimensional mixed media works. Her distinctive style draws upon her Indigenous ancestry\, research\, travel experiences and creative practice. Through her work\, Schultz explores the relationship between materials\, personal vision and spirit. \n“My art is an extension of my spirit\, a piece of my personal vision and a constant source of comfort and healing for me. Held in honor of National Native American Heritage Month\, the exhibition offers an opportunity to explore Schultz’s personal artistic expression and her enduring interest in the Indigenous peoples of the Americas. Schultz specializes in clay and mixed-media masks inspired by Indigenous peoples of the Americas. Her broader body of work includes Southwestern-style masks made from clay and gourds\, rawhide shields\, dolls\, serigraphs\, clay plaques\, photography\, collage\, and two-dimensional mixed media works. Her distinctive style draws upon her Indigenous ancestry\, research\, travel experiences and creative practice. Through her work\, Schultz explores the relationship between materials\, personal vision and spirit. \n“My art is an extension of my spirit\, a piece of my personal vision and a constant source of comfort and healing for me. Monterey County. \nCity of Seaside Celebrates National Native American Heritage Month with Community Artist Becky Olvera Schultz to Exhibit at Seaside’s Oldemeyer Center Gallery. \nContemporary Indigenous mixed media artist Becky Olvera Schultz will present an art exhibition at the Oldemeyer Center\, 986 Hilby Avenue\, Seaside\, from October 5 through November 25\, 2026. Held in honor of National Native American Heritage Month\, the exhibition offers an opportunity to explore Schultz’s personal artistic expression and her enduring interest in the Indigenous peoples of the Americas. Schultz specializes in clay and mixed-media masks inspired by Indigenous peoples of the Americas. Her broader body of work includes Southwestern-style masks made from clay and gourds\, rawhide shields\, dolls\, serigraphs\, clay plaques\, photography\, collage\, and two-dimensional mixed media works. Her distinctive style draws upon her Indigenous ancestry\, research\, travel experiences and creative practice. Through her work\, Schultz explores the relationship between materials\, personal vision and spirit. \n“My art is an extension of my spirit\, a piece of my personal vision and a constant source of comfort and healing for me. I derive immense satisfaction from putting life into the materials I work with.” Schultz’s work has appeared in nine museum exhibitions\, galleries in several states\, and numerous national and local exhibitions. She has participated in Santa Cruz Open Studios twelve times\, and her art has been featured in the national magazines Cowboys & Indians\, Wild\nWest\, and Native Peoples. \nThe Seaside exhibition invites visitors to experience an artist’s individual perspective on indigenous inspiration\, creative expression\, and the healing possibilities of art.

DESCRIPTION:We are SO LUCKY!!! Every year\, the home-grown and absolutely amazing California Bluegrass Reunion band comes back to celebrate our state’s rich bluegrass traditions. This all-star lineup of California-based musicians will be back on Wednesday\, November 11th at the United Methodist Church to do it again on the Otter Opry stage. Let’s give them a warm welcome!\nCalifornia Bluegrass Reunion is highlighted by the awesome fiddling of Chad Manning and features an abundance of original instrumentals from mandolinist John Reischman and banjo player Bill Evans. Anchoring the rhythm section is Jim Nunally on guitar and vocals\, Mike Witcher on dobro\, Max Schwartz on bass\, and Sharon Gilchrist on mandolin. The show will open with a four-song set by Nell & Jim\, featuring Jim Nunally on vocals\, guitar and banjo\, with Nell Robinson on vocals and miniflute.\nThese musicians have made music in various combinations for decades\, and this performance is an incredible opportunity to see and hear them together once again.
