SUMMARY:Arts In Progress-David Ligare
DESCRIPTION:Monterey\, California – Arts Habitat\, a Monterey County non-profit\, invites the public to an Arts in Progress presentation by renowned Carmel painter\, David Ligare; at SandBox Sand City\, 440 Ortiz Avenue\, on Wednesday\, August 30 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.\nThe event is free and open to the public\, and is a program in support of the Monterey County Artists Studio Tour\, taking place September 30 & October 8\, and October 7 & 8. \nGo to ArtsHabitat.org for Tour catalogs\, maps\, and more information.\n\nCome get inspired by Ligare’s presentation of his artwork\, influences and technique. His neo-classical works conceptually links ancient Greek philosophy to contemporary social needs. Through established painting tropes like the figure and the landscape\, Ligare embeds tenets of Plato and Aristotle within deftly painted scenes allegorizing social issues such as literacy and homelessness.
