DESCRIPTION:Mexican Ofrenda Boxes for Community Altar and Gallery Exhibit at Sol Treasures. We invite you to participate in a meaningful and vibrant cultural celebration by contributing your small altar to the Muertos Community Altar and Gallery Show at Sol Treasures in King City.\nTheme: Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead)\n3 $100 dollar prizes will be awarded for most original\, most authentic\, and public favorite.\nArtwork Type: Ofrenda or small altars (must not be larger than 18 ” x 24″\nSubmission Deadline: September 8\, 2023\nSubmit photographs with submission sheet to grantsmanager@soltreasures.com\nTo receive submission sheet\, email grantsmanager@soltreasures.com and one will be sent to you.\nArtwork to be delivered to Sol Treasures between September 12 thru the 15th\, between 12 noon and 5pm (arrangements can be made if you can’t come during those times)\nExhibition dates: September 28 thru November 3\nYour ofrenda will be in the MCArts Tour on October 7th and 8th and will be a part of Sol Treasures Social Media.

SUMMARY:NOCTURNAL ANIMAL ILLUSTRATION WORKSHOP
DESCRIPTION:Illustrate some of your favorite local nocturnal animals. Together we will learn about nocturnal animals that can be found in Monterey County including bats\, owls\, raccoons and opossums! \nAfter a brief introduction to these animals\, we will use science illustration techniques to create a personalized field guide for some of these misunderstood creatures of the night. \nWe will focus on scientific accuracy while drawing our nocturnal friends. Students will use graphite\, pen & ink\, colored pencil and watercolor to create the illustrations. \nAges: 13 – Adult (exceptions made on case-by-case basis for younger students)\nDate: Sunday\, October 29th\, 2023\nHours: 9:30am – 1:30pm\nLocation: The Lyceum\nInstructor: Kristen Burroughs\nClass size: Limited to 8 students\nFee: $45 (includes all materials)
