DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, December 5\, 2026 at 6:30 PM \nCelebrate the holiday season with Chamber Music Monterey Bay as we welcome the acclaimed Miró Quartet\, one of America’s most distinguished chamber ensembles\, to the Sunset Center. Praised by The New Yorker as “furiously committed” and recognized for its “exceptional tonal focus and interpretive intensity” by the Cleveland Plain Dealer\, the GRAMMY®-nominated quartet has captivated audiences around the world for nearly three decades with its artistry and dynamic performances. \nThe evening’s program showcases an engaging blend of classical and contemporary works\, opening with Haydn’s elegant String Quartet No. 55 in D Major\, Op. 71\, No. 2. Kevin Puts’ Home offers a deeply expressive modern contrast\, followed after intermission by Puccini’s poignant Crisantemi and Ginastera’s powerful and rhythmically vibrant String Quartet No. 2. \nJoin us for an unforgettable evening as the Miró Quartet brings its remarkable musicianship and expressive storytelling to our 60th Anniversary Season.
