Canapo Art Gallery

Canapo Art Gallery was opened for business in 1994. Seeing a great demand for Fine Latin Art, Carlos Porras, owner of Canapo Gallery decided to focus on Latin Art in his gallery. Using the broad meaning of the Latin word and its origin from Italy, Canapo Art Gallery features artists from Italy, Spain, France as well as artists from Mexico, Chile, Peru and the rest of Latin America.

Canapo’s commitment to bring unique art has been realized through the years with artists such as Mexican watercolorist Ruben Resendiz, who created a new style within the watercolor technique in which he uses only two to three colors creating an amazing effect of light and shadow. Also, Fray Robertino who developed a unique technique called sculpture painting. From Chile, Francisca Valenzuela who has created and mixed techniques combining the realism and abstract styles into one by adding a special texture to her paintings.

Del Monte Fine Art

Del Monte Fine Art has been a destination for collectors and admirers of Early California Impressionism since its inception.

Our name was derived from the original Del Monte Art Gallery located in the Hotel Del Monte built in 1880. The hotel burned twice; first in 1887 and again in 1924. This was the original gallery dedicated exclusively to showing works of the Early California artists.

We have a superior selection of historically significant, museum quality paintings focused on the period 1880-1950.

Lu Lu’s Silk Art Gallery

“Silk embroidery has been one of the most prestigious arts in China, surpassing the fame of painting during some periods. From its earliest development, around 800 B.C.E., roughly half a millennium before the terra-cotta warriors were buried in the grave of the emperor, outside what is now Xi’an (c.210 B.C.E.), embroidery has evolved rapidly during those period when social conditions favored it. Ming dynasty (1368 – 1644) the court in Beijing established official embroidery workshops in Suzhou.” – Quote from “Threads of Light” by Robert Glenn Ketchum, article by Patrick Dowdey, the Editor of this book.

In China, there are four styles of silk embroidery. They are Hunan, Sichuan, Canton, and last, also the best of all – Suzhou, which is very different from the other three. The best and finest silk arts are made and presented in Suzhou style.

Thus we at Lu Lu’s Silk Art Gallery have the urgency to show these wonderful Suzhou silk arts to the world and help all who love this kind of art to collect a piece before they disappear.

Russell Levin, born and raised in California, became involved in photography at a very early age. Learning photography from his father, he developed and printed his first roll of film at the age of ten. His education was furthered when at the age of 14 he spent a year in Mexico with his father. His father was a guest teacher at the Art Institute in San Miguel de Allende. Russell spent time photographing the bullfights, and quickly developed a passion for photographing people and action images. In high school Russell worked for the school newspaper/year book in addition to shooting sports for the local newspaper. Within a short time, Russell was receiving assignments from the San Francisco Chronicle and the San Jose Mercury. Before turning twenty, he had over 1000 photographs published in newspapers through out the state.
