Thanks to MC Gives 2017 donors, we are making great progress!
The mission of the Arts Council for Monterey County is to improve the quality of life for everyone in Monterey County through the arts. This year, we are expanding our award-winning Arts as Healing Intervention Program — designed by Linda Pedrazzini Hevern — to help youth struggling to stay in school. In a year-long program, our teaching artists weave creative skill building with emotional support.
As they work toward their final projects, our youth develop their communication skills and their capacity to solve problems and overcome unexpected challenges.
We help hundreds of youth who need us most develop more confidence and make better choices for a safe and healthy future.
Donations help us work with 200 youth who are currently struggling to stay in school. Our teaching artists help them with design and creativity and art production
culminating in professionally curated murals and exhibitions.
